FEEDING THE DEER IN WINTER

HERE'S AN IDEA THAT I GOT FROM A DIFFERENT BLOG ... I WOULD LIKE TO ASK
FOR DONATIONS FOR MY DEER-FEEDING PROJECT IN THE WINTER. The donations will be used for corn, hay, and minerals. I only feed the deer in the winter & spring.

I really cannot afford to buy the deer corn in
decent quantities. I'd like to buy some hay for extra munchies,
too. The economy has even affected the loggers; the price of wood of
all sorts has dropped so drastically that loggers aren't logging
much. WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH FEEDING THE DEER? The
deer just love to eat the nutritious buds & tender twigs from the
fallen tree tops; they will actually gather awaiting the next tree to
be felled in the winter!

I usually get quite a crowd; it is not unusual for a deer
to approach the house & peer intently at the door or window,
waiting for me to appear with at least a handful of corn to toss
out. I try to teach them to come at the end of the day as a group
(partly so I don't have to worry about attracting crows, etc.) .

NOTE: in some parts of Wisconsin &
Lower Michigan ... any sort of feeding of deer is banned because of a
recent disease. However, in our area, it is okay, but, a limited
amount per feeding & within range of your house (Recreational
Feeding).
