STRANGE SPRING!

Click for Crystal Falls, Michigan Forecast

I've been out in the woods ... maple syruping.
If the weather had been normal, I had planned to
go on Telephone Time to look for a partner and buy
some more taps ... then go do the maple trees up
the hill. I only did the trees here by the house.

BUT, I just started here by the house; didn't know
if there would be a sap run or not. For a good run,
it's supposed to go below freezing at night ... which
it didn't ... very unusual for up here. We had about
two & a half feet of snow before this 60/70 degree
 weather!
(That's all gone now, except some "snow-plowing"
piles.) I just tapped some trees experimentally ...
and, checked them every other day ... two areas.
Maybe I will start bringing some jugs in soon????
 A few at a time???

I must have about 20 pints put up so far ...
better than not trying at all.

I TOOK THESE PIX WITH MY CELL PHONE ...

THEY DON'T GIVE YOU MUCH CLUE AS TO

THE STEEP HILL.

Lots of stone piles to climb over, too.

The hill to the left is a mile or so away ...
through the river valley

That's my house
down there.
